**Areas of treatment competency include, but not limited to: anxiety disorders, various forms of trauma, depression, self-harm, family conflict, school refusal, addictions (including excessive gaming), sexuality related issues, gender identity, workplace stress, relationship issues and parenting strategies. Carolyn has a Doctorate in Education -Exceptional Children from Northcentral University. She completed her Master’s Degree in Education (Special Education and Counselling) at Brock University, in St. Catherine’s, Ontario. Her Bachelor of Education Degree (K-12) in Trois Rivieres, Quebec and her undergraduate degree In French and English at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Carolyn specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults of all abilities She has worked in a variety of environments from facilitating children and adolescents with exceptionality in schooling, in communication, skill-building, relationship building and mental health-PTSD, suicide prevention, to parent support and life-skills training and support. She is trained as a Crisis Prevention Intervention Practitioner as well as certified in Mental Health Literacy advocate. Carolyn is committed to a holistic approach for emotional health care. She has worked for over 27 years as a K-12 teacher, a Department Head as well as a school administrator. Education and Social Emotional Learning go hand in hand.
