Compassion Cultivation Training aims to develop the characteristics of kindness, compassion, and empathy for others and oneself. Defining Compassion Cultivation Training

The Compassion Cultivation Training course (CCT) is a six-step process for fostering empathy, kindness, and compassion for oneself and others. What’s more, the course incorporates scientific research on compassion, modern psychology, and contemplative practices.

The curriculum was created by researchers, clinical psychologists, and contemplative thinkers (particularly Thupten Jinpa, Ph. D) from the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education at Stanford Medical School.

CCT first entails mental exercise, second is the growth of specific interpersonal abilities, and lastly, a purposeful selection of compassionate thoughts and deeds. Compassion training has many benefits beyond fostering more sympathy and concern for others. It also entails the cultivation of tenacity to avoid becoming overly sympathetic, the fortitude to face pain head-on, and the strength to act with kindness.
